I grew up in Provence in the south of France, moved to London in 2006, and eventually settled in South Wales, carrying a sketchbook, a guitar and a DAW along the way.
I’ve been drawing since before I can remember and documenting it here since 2008. The work has shifted over the years, from sketchbook characters and improvised creatures to portrait illustration, hair studies, and a recurring obsession with ducks. The logic has stayed the same: make something, figure out how it happened, write it down.
Music came later, but with the same energy. Under the name Emlo I write and produce indie tracks that blur the line between hip-hop-influenced beats and something more organic. Most songs start as a late-night idea and end up here alongside whatever illustration was happening at the same time.
The two practices run in parallel and tend to feed each other, which is what this site is really about. Not a portfolio in the traditional sense, but a long-running record of what it looks and sounds like to keep making things alongside a playful life: a day job, a family, and all the moments in between.
If you’re here because you found an illustration, welcome. If you’re here for the music, also welcome. If you’re here because you’re trying to keep your own creative practice alive and wanted to know someone else was doing the same, that’s probably who this is most for.
